Requirements that need to be satisfied in order to gain credit for participation

Jeff: I was asked earilier on if we would could run credits through PSU again like we did last year. I received word today (and was getting ready to write when I found this thread).
We will set it up like we did last year (Had 5 people complete the course). We use my school's Moodle site as a place to keep track of what happens. I'll have the syllabus and requirements by next week if you would like me to share.

Jeff: Basically...if I remember right. they have to watch/listen to all keynotes and then 16 other sessions with reflections either on their own blog or within Moodle. They then do a final project that impacts their school. They must share this document with others.

Jeff: Here are the requirements to get 3 Credits vis Plymouth State University. We left the course open until 1 week ago when we started creating it for the coming year. We had one person finish in March another in June, so people do take it later on. We keep track of everything via Moodle. Students can post reflections on their own blog (which we encourage) we just ask they put a link to their blog post in the course so we can follow up. Thanks Jeff (Terry)

Terry:
It seems to me there are several possibilities:
  1. Attendance certificate
  2. Acknowledgement by school or school district
  3. Accreditation for Prior Learning: credits that can contribute towards an existing course
  4. Certification in its own right

Further notes on the above:

  1. I would suggest that there needs to be a method by which people can register on K12 Online and for individual sessions. Otherwise how would anyone know they have "attended"? This would apply to #2 as well.
  2. I would suggest we draw up a checklist of recommendations that people should act on in order to get their employer/potential employer to recognise the value of this conference as part of their professional development. What do people think of this idea?
  3. It would be good to know from Jeff, and from Wes, how their universities (Plymouth in Wes's case) work out what attendance is worth, and how it is judged. My understanding of what it entails in the UK ties in with what Jeff has said (above), but here we go further: a write-up of the literature has to be included and evaluated.
  4. I don't think this is a viable option at this stage, if the UK set-up is anything to go by. A post-grad certificate is worth 60 credits.

Here is the Texas Education Agency's CPE Credit application form, I'm submitting this for K12 Online (Wesley) -
